Ashwin Kumar joined Motive Partners in 2021 and is an Industry Partner based out of the London office. At Motive, Ashwin sources and executes investment opportunities with a focus on strategy and growth for Motive portfolio companies, through his extensive experience across the full bandwidth of financial services including investing, trading and technology, having built businesses within asset management, investment banking and market infrastructure across the US, UK, and continental Europe.

Prior to joining Motive Partners, Ashwin was founding partner of 7RIDGE, a private markets asset manager invested in fintech and associated transformative technologies. Previously, Ashwin was managing director, global head of group product and business development and a member of the executive leadership team at Deutsche Börse. Preceding this, Ashwin was a founding partner of multi-strategy hedge funds Meru Capital and Old Lane Partners; managing director and head of rates trading (Europe) at Bank of America and head of rates trading (USA) at Commerzbank.

Ashwin holds an MBA in Finance & Marketing, from the University of Chicago.
